Blue Man
So this is kinda old, but back in November for my birthday my father-in-law, Marky Mark, got us tickets to see Blue Man Group in Vegas. We were down there for the Annual Turkey Shoot soccer tournament. Justus' parents and sister came down and we all (minus Coke) went to the show on Saturday night. It was great. I saw them at the Delta Center or E-Center when they came a few years ago, but seeing them in their studio was pretty cool!March 9, 2009
Things
So the last weekend in February me & Justus, Nic & Joyce, Mark & Katie went up to the family cabin to do snowmobiling. Now it wasn't the ideal trip...and unless you are really interested I'll spare you all the details. But, on Saturday night after we took the snowmobiles back to a little place near Oakley, we stopped at the Road Island Diner. Now as you can see this goes way back. On the backside of the menu's it gives you this history of the trolley car that is now the diner and how it was transported cross-country all the way to Utah a few years back. Its an interesting little place. Kind of overpriced, and the food I had wasn't too great (I had turkey dinner and the turkey was warmed, thin sliced deli turkey with gravy, not my kind of turkey dinner). My parents have been there and had breakfast/brunch. They said it was fantastic! So maybe we picked the wrong meal? But you should go check it out nonetheless. My banana split was devine though!

Friday Addition...I know you'll love it!

Oh M.A.S.H. I loved this game. I played it with all my crushes, boyfriends, and dream husbands. Who didn't right? And my favorite was when you'd throw in a couple guys that you hated or really disliked. Keeps things interesting. It definitely made certain classes, subjects, or periods go by a lot faster. This also reminds me of those little hand made games you'd play when you'd make some origami thing and decide who you liked or whatever. Oh those were the days............

Clueless

Awe...Clueless. Who doesn't love this movie? I love it! And, I love to watch it and laugh at some of the funny things in it; the old cell phones, tapes, and Marvin the Martian. Justus always says when I watch this movie, "This movie made Jeeps a girl car. It was a guy car until Cher drove one." Or something along those lines, and then he goes into a short story about how he loved Jeeps until this movie and probably would have owned one.
And where are our friends now?
Alicia Silverstone: Has been doing several TV roles and looks to be filming on a new movie
Brittney Murphy: The voice of Luanne on TV's King of the Hill, has finished filming a few movies herself
Paul Rudd: Love him. He's been in several of my favorite comedies the past few years.
Donald Faison: Is on the TV show Scrubs.
Jeremy Sisto: Now has a leading role on my #2 favorite show, Law & Order.
My Chair...My Chair...I will love my Chair!
So...about a week or so ago Justus, me and my mom went to Pier 1 because I have this $20 gift certificate for there that expires on Saturday. While we were there I totally fell in love with this chair. Its so beautiful and comfortable. I was sitting in all the new chairs and couches and this was the last one for me to sit in and I sat down and just stayed there. Fifteen to twenty minutes later Justus had to drag me out of the chair. He said "I know you love it, but we don't really have a home right now. We're selling the condo and haven't closed on the house so there's no where to put it." So...of coarse I was a little disappointed. So this week in the mail I got Pier 1's new catalog for spring and Easter. And of coarse...my chair is in it. But, its on SALE! So, along with the sale price and my $20 gift certificate (obviously before taxes) I'd save about $100 on the chair! So, I again brought it up to Justus. He finally surrended and said I could buy it. Now that closing on the condo and house are so much closer and realistic, he was okay with it. YAY!!
So, I'm planning on going to get it on Friday night or Saturday. We laugh because I've already planned out what room this will go in and how I'm going to decorate the room around the chair. Its going to be in our front room, and for a very, very long time this will probably be the only piece of furniture in that room. Its going to be my black, white and red accents room. It will definitely go with the flow of the rest of the main floor too since the colors are red, black, brown, creams and whites. So hooray!!!

#3: The Tamagotchi...oh yes...and a surprise

The Tamagotchi (たまごっち ?) is a handheld digital pet created in 1996 by Aki Maita and sold by Bandai. Over 70 million Tamagotchis have been sold as of 2008.[1] The Tamagotchi is housed in a small and simple egg-shaped computer. Three buttons (A, B, and C) allow the user to select and perform an activity, including:
1. Feeding the Tamagotchi a piece of food or a snack.
2. Playing games with the Tamagotchi.
3. Cleaning up a Tamagotchi's waste.
4. Checking its age, discipline, hunger, happiness and other statistics.
5. Connecting with other friends
Oh the Tamagotchi, Gigga Pet, whatever...I remember in Elementary they had to do a "ban" on this product much like they do with cell phones today. If they saw your little pet, they'd take it away until the end of the day. My parents never let me buy one...but my friends would let me "babysit" theirs, and I might have even inherited one from a friend when they got a new one. I just remember the envy that I had when they first came out and my parents were holding out on me. I was in the grocery store the other day and I think I saw a newer version...maybe I'll buy one now!
Now I'm one for the old stuff...and one thing I think about often as well are POGS.
Pogs is a game that was popular from the early to late 1990s.[1][2][3] The word "pog" also refers to the discs used to play the game. The name originates from POG, a brand of juice made from passionfruit, orange and guava; the use of the POG bottle caps to play the game pre-dated the game's commercialization.[3] The game of pogs originated in Hawaii in the 1920s or 1930s,[1][2] and returned to popularity when the World POG Federation and the Canada Games Company reintroduced them to the public in the 1990s.

I remember the slammers were so cool because they were like decorative paper weights in the shape of pogs. And then....you could win your friends pogs by playing the game. I loved it. Again, my parents didn't really play into the "pet rocks" of my time so I had to muster up my own money to buy a few pogs to be able to win more from my friends. I wonder what ever happened to those. I used to have a ton. Must have been thrown out one day! I hope they dont come back in fashion again...haha
#2 In Living Color
Oh...In Living Color... This is the show where a few actors and actresses got their start. Created by the Wayan's Brothers and they all had roles on the show, we also saw great faces like Jim Carrey and Jamie Foxx. And did you all know that Jennifer Lopez was discovered here? She was a Fly Girl! For those of you that don't know what the Fly Girls are...they were like the dance team for the show.

Okay Ashley...Blast from the Past it is!
#1:

So the above picture is from my birthday party when I was who knows how old?! I'm assuming 6? There was this place down by the DI in Sandy off 700 East and 9400 South that you could go there and paint ceramic items. It was pretty cool.
