The Road to Hana

So, if you haven't been to Maui before, I'm sure you've heard of the Road to Hana. Hana is a small town/city on Maui. And the road to it is just this crazy, zig-zaggy road, and most of you would probably get car sick if you drove straight to Hana. But, the Road to Hana isn't about just getting to Hana (because Hana isn't that impressive anyway), it's actually much more about the things you get to see and enjoy on the way up. We have used a great book called "Maui Revealed" that has a lot of little stops that you can make and could miss if you didn't know what to look for.
These are our three cars...if you see the size of the road, its not that big! Its a two lane, and in some spots a one laned highway...its pretty scary! And the locals drive it so crazy!
One of the many waterfalls you can stop and see on your way up.
Another waterfall...I took this from the car as we were driving...Maui is so beautiful!

You're right, the Road to Hana is beautiful, especially the seven sacred pools at the end. But it's definitely a one time thing--2 1/2 hours each way on that windy road was about all I could handle!
